Box Score WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The No. 10 Nova Southeastern University women's tennis team took their 13th match in a row, defeating Northwood on the road Sunday afternoon, 5-3.
The Sharks (13-0), in addition to their overall record, ran their perfect road mark to 6-0 thus far this season by taking two of the three doubles matches and three singles points as well.
Petra Jurova (Jr., Bratislava, Slovakia) and
Irina Constantinide (Jr., Galati, Romania) combined for an 8-1 doubles win in the top draw, and both notched straight-set singles victories (and in the process, each stay undefeated on singles this season), with the former winning 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 and the latter taking the ultimate shutout in the No. 2 slot, 6-0, 6-0.
The other Shark doubles win came courtesy of
Linda Kornienko (Jr., Fort Myers, Fla.) and
Iryna Serdyuk (Jr., Boca Raton, Fla.), 8-6 as the No. 3 duo, while
Bianca Roberts (Sr., Ft. Walden Beach, Fla.) posted the third singles point, 6-2, 4-6, 6-1.
Next on the docket for NSU is Division I opponent Nebraska-Omaha at home on Tuesday, beginning at 3 p.m.
